Nai Wan

Nai Wan is 24 years old.  He had a tumor growing from right cheek and on the 17th of February, 2009 he had aNai Wan post op successful operation to remove the tumor. After the operation Nai Wan was released from hospital that same day.  He had a follow appointment on the 24th of February and given the all clear.  The hospital said that he was recovering well. However, they said he is to monitor himself and that if something were to occur later on, he has to inform the hospital.

Nai Wan says that he was treated well at the hospital and that both treatment and communication with hospital staff were good.  He says that since the operation he is less anxious and worried for his future. He says that he is now confident that he can work without any pain or harm to himself.

Before the operation, he felt severe pain in his brain when he drank cold water or when he was working.  However, after the operation he is no longer in pain.  He says that he feels well recovered now, and that his life has changed dramatically. He can work and earn money and can now try to start paying back the debts he owes.

Nai Wan’s main aim in coming to Thailand was to cure his illness by trying to find some way to get treatment.  He is so happy that he has had his operation and that it Nai Wan post opwas well done.  Before coming to Thailand, he could not work and could not support his family. He felt like a heavy burden to his family.  However, he says now those hardships and worries are over. He is earning money and can support his parents and can pay back the money he borrowed.  He has decided to go back to Burma once he has saved some money.  He says his family will be so happy.  He says that as he is regaining his self confidence and is positive for his future. 

Nai Wan says that there was no way his family and he could have afforded to pay for the treatment to remove his tumor.  He said that their future was full of uncertaintities and they had started to lose hope.   Now he can start to build a future for himself.  He says that in Burma they had no money and no chance to help him.  He says that without the support of the Burma Adult Medical Fund he would have died.  He and his family thank the donors and BAMF so much. Nai Wan says that without the support from the donors it would not be possible for him to live very long in this life.  He wishes that the donors and BAMF be triumphant in their work and that they continue their noble works for others for a long time.
