AYE AYE NOUIN

Pre-surgery

Post-surgery
Aye Aye Nouin is an 8-year old girl who has recently had open heart surgery at Chiang Mai Hospital. The family could not afford to pay for the operation, and the money came from a sponsor through Mae Tao Clinic to Burma Children's Medical Fund. The sponsor paid for transport to Chiang Mai for Aye Aye and her mother, accommodation, food and the admission and surgery at Chiang Mai Hospital.

Since the operation Aye Aye’s health has visibly improved. She cries less often and appears to feel well all the time. She has more energy for talking and playing with other children. Aye Aye and her family have been able to return home to Burma and she has started to go to school. This is the first time since Aye Aye’s birth that her mother has been able to work and support the family. The whole family is much happier now that their daughter is well. The mother is especially grateful to all those involved in helping them, and still doesn’t seem to believe it is true.

Now that Aye Aye Nouin has had successful surgery, she requires no further treatment for her heart condition. The parents hope that their daughter will now live a long and healthy life, and have the chance to have a good education. She has expressed a desire to be a doctor after her time in hospital and her parents hope she can achieve her dreams.
