Pu Pu Sai

Pu Pu Sai was born at Mae Tao Clinic. When she was born the medics noticed a small lump on the child’s back but told her it was okay to go home. However, the lump continued to grow. She came back with her baby for immunizations and the medic noticed that the lump had become very swollen. She returned to RHIPD, who sent her to the trauma department (for further check-up). Trauma sent her to Mae Sot Hospital who could not treat the baby and referred her to Chiang Mai.
The family moved to Thailand from Burma four years ago. They left Burma as there was no work. Pu Pu Sai’s father is a rickshaw taxi driver. He earns between 100-200 baht a day. Her mother has not worked since she had her baby but before this she worked in a shop. Her three siblings go to school.
Pu Pu Sai’s mother says her that her child has a fever sometimes but otherwise has no other symptoms. She is worried that the swelling on her child’s back will increase and that something bad will happen to the child before she can get treatment.
Pu Pu Sai’s mother hopes that her daughter can get treatment so that she can grow up to get an education and help other people.
