Ei Ei Htwe
Ei Ei Htwe is a two and a half year old girl with a carcinoma on her right eyelid. Her family are from Mawlamyaing in Burma, but they moved to Thailand three years ago to find for work. Her father works in construction and he earns 100 baht per day, but he does not have work every day. Her mother takes care of the children at home.Ei Ei Htwe’s parents say they noticed their child’s health problem two months ago. At the time, she had a small blister on her right eye that was itchy and painful. They brought their child to Mae Tao Clinic where the medic gave them some treatment for her condition - but her condition did not improve. After that the medic sent her to Mae Sot Hospital for investigation. At Mae Sot Hospital they said that they could do anything and told them that the child would need to go to Chiang Mai Hospital because she has a carcinoma on her eye lid.
Ei Ei Htwe’s mother says that the blister on her child’s eye is getting bigger and bigger, and sometimes her eye bleeds. She says that it is so difficult for her to get her child treatment because they have no money and she worries that her child will go blind.
They hope their child will get better and so they brought her to Mae Tao Clinic because they could not afford to go to another hospital. They have known about Mae Tao Clinic for a long time and every time when their family gets sick they came to Mae Tao Clinic.
