Aung Aung - 8 years old
Urinary problem

U Htun Win, 34 and Dar Mar Law, 32, are the proud parents of 3 children. Their lives aren’t easy: she sells beans at the market and he is a tuk-tuk driver, both working in Myawaddy. Together they earn about 3 us dollar a day which is barely enough to support their family.
In July of this year, their oldest son, Aung Aung, was run over by a tractor and this severely fractured his pelvic bone. Aung Aung was immediately transferred to Mae Sot Hospital and received emergency surgery. The total costs were over 600 us dollar, but fortunately the tractor driver had to pay the hospital bill, because the parents didn’t have any savings due to their low income.
Unfortunately Aung Aungs urethra was seriously damaged as well and Mae Sot Hospital doesn´t have the specialization for this kind of surgery. So Aung Aung was sent away with a catheter in his bladder and they told Dar Mar Law to go to Chiang Mai for further surgery. Dar Mar Law was in despair because she didn´t have any money for the drive to Chiang Mai, let alone for the costs of the surgery. Realizing that her son has to carry a catheter around for the rest of his life, made her very depressed.
Aung Aung is often sick and weak and because Dar Mar Law has to take care of him, they don´t have enough income to support their children. Furthermore, Aung Aung and Dar Mar Law have to travel from Burma to Mae Sot Hospital every month to change the bag. Because Aung Aung is only a child, he sometimes accidently pulls out the catheter and they have to go to Mae Sot again to put it back in. Both of these procedures are very painful for Aung Aung.
The parents hope BCMF can help Aung Aung to live a normal, less painless life and that it will be possible for him to play with the other kids and go to school.
